Spreading Joy

It's why we're here. Writing blogs. Reading blogs. Commenting on blogs. Returning to blogs. We do it because it makes our lives richer, connects us to friends we haven't met yet, answers the questions posed by isolation and self doubt.

And gives us joy. Most of all joy.

Every day I read blogs that make me smile, laugh, and sometimes cry a little. And they keep me coming back.

I love looking at pictures of children, as seen through the eyes of their mothers. I can almost hear them giggling through my computer. I really think nobody can photograph a child like a mother can.

But sometimes the powerful pull of blogging can weigh me down. Make me feel guilty for not posting on time. Make me feel stressed that I don't visit every blog I want to. Every day.

Cheryl, now you know what to get me for Christmas! (LOL) Jenn P. I wish I'd thought to take some pictures next to the really huge trees. They were enormous. Amy, my kids had their eyes out for bugs too. Jungle Boy found an enormous beetle with red wings. Wish I'd been faster with the camera. What A Card, the rolling pins were as beautiful as the trees to me. I satisfied myself by thinking they probably don't wash well. Beth, I got engaged at Jed Smith State Park. Must be why I have a thing for huge redwoods. Laura, I think I might actually hang it on the wall -- so it would be within easy reach to threaten the kids with. (kidding folks!) Noble Pig, if you live close, we should have a rolling pin meet someday! Auds, the main trail is stroller-friendly, and there are so many deer that even little kids there seemed to enjoy it. I have to warn you about the way-too-cute stuffed bears in the gift shop though. Mom/Mum, thanks for stopping by! I really enjoy your blog. Marcy writes, I'm so glad I could visit one of your favorite places for you! How cool is that?

    I think I've seen that button before and I agree completely with the concept. I think it puts things in perspective. I often feel the pressure of posting or visiting other peoples blogs, following up on comments, etc too. And really, there's no reason to feel bad that I can't do that sometimes.
