I've had a great week, and now it's time to look around and see what's been happening.
The furballs, as usual, gave me the silent scream to be fed.
The furballs, as usual, gave me the silent scream to be fed.
Jungle Boy beaming after yet another ballet class. Furballs again, hanging out in their usual spots on the couch.
Work in progress on my design wall; a hexagon quilt. This one's really fun. Drama Girl is really begging to get this one, but I'm not sure. Don't know if I want to do that whole "everybody gets a quilt for Christmas" thing. Again.
Husband sat on the couch and ate a banana and then put the peel down on Ashleigh. Poor old senile blind cat. I don't think she cared. She didn't even move.
Whipped up this baby quilt today for the neighbor's newborn. A bit bright. Maybe I shouldn't have had so much coffee when I was picking fabrics. Every fabric has hearts on it though.
On my music stand; "Into the West" from Lord of the Rings. Sounds great on the harp. Maybe if I play it enough, Viggo Mortensen will fall madly in love with me. Or not. Also playing Liebestraum by Liszt.
Ashleigh mimicking the lion statue. First fire of the season. We get the ocean breeze in the evening and it's been very cool lately.
And now, for your vicarious pleasure, I present the joy of diving into a new jar of peanut butter. Original music composed and performed by Wasabi Girl. (go ahead and click - it's only 18 seconds!)

Thank you everyone, for the kind words about my show and tell yesterday!
To follow up on my post about the Nutcracker auditions -- both Drama Girl and Jungle Boy have made in into the cast! (yeah!) Final parts will be assigned after a few rehearsals.
14 people stopped folding laundry to write:
I'm so envious. You make quilts. I want a quilt. Wanna make me a quilt? *lol* Oh and you play the piano. Again, envy is seeping from every pore in my body.
ha-ha coffee can induce bright colors, i'm sure they'll be ga-ga over it :)
The quilts are beautiful!!! I love the pink one, it reminds me of when my daughter was born, I loved all the girly, pink stuff.
Congrats to the kids on the parts, your life just got busier.
You had me at Viggo. If you think my Mamma Mia obsession is bad, be ever so grateful that I wasn't blogging during my LOTR obsession. LOVE the video! Girl after my own heart!
You all are one talented family! Congratulations to the kids. To you as well for getting all that work done!
What an overall triumphant update..complete with soundtrack!
Nice to see the cats get their due...can hardly wait to show my mom your quilts...I'll have to blog about hers sometime...
Have a great weekend!
What a fab quilter you are! And your cats are darling...Ours also look very reproachful when they are not getting nice treats and special meals!
You are a talented family indeed!
I like both the quilts. You can't be too bright on a baby quilt (might be too bright for a mama, but never for a baby!).
Congrats to the dancers!
I love the look into your life - I might have to copy it myself!
Okay this peanut butter thing is too funny. (BTW your home seems lovely.)
YOu see, when my mom would come home from grocery shopping, my ritual was to find the newly bought peanut butter jar and dip into it. It didn't matter if we already had an open jar. I had to be the first IN ALL PB JARS.
So, to me? This is about me and my love affair with peanut better.
I am sending this to my sister because she STILL brings up how I used to dig into the jar.
Made my day. Too funny.
Love the bright colors in your baby quilt, and the hexagon is nice too. Jen
LOVE the hexagon quilt! It's gorgeous! And I'd love to hear you play the harp (hint, hint!)
The quilts are amazing. The banana is classic.
You just whipped up a quilt? Are you kidding? I am insanely jealous!
