Marcy over at The Glamorous Life is hosting her monthly GIRL party, where we get to show just how fabulously glamorous our lives really are. It's so hard for me to choose just one aspect of my fabulous life to spotlight.
I love to cook. I love to read recipes and clip them out. I love to try new things. So of course, I am blessed a family that's, shall we say, adventure-impaired.
A good week might have a roast and homemade lasagna, carefully designed soups and exotic salads. I use cooking software to plan each day. I shop for fresh ingredients and prepare every dish with love.
So what is their favorite food? "Make your own pizza." A concoction I started when the kids were tiny. Here's the whole recipe: split an English Muffin, slop on some pizza sauce, toss on a little shredded mozzarella, and top it with some turkey pepperoni. Throw it in the oven for 8 minutes at 450.
They could eat this every day. They beg for it every day in fact. They are routinely disappointed when it's only lamb stew or a pork loin. Glamor. We're all about glamor around here.
*sigh*

13 people stopped folding laundry to write:
Well, if you feel like you need someone to cook for please come and visit me. English Muffin Pizza is what I would consider haute cuisine. (I'm not much of a chef.)
Isn't that the way it goes! I am bot obsessed with ironing everything my family wears. And the other day Tucker took an uniron shirt and said 'look how cool it looks. I want all my shirts to be crinkled like this!'....they just don't appreciate the June Cleaver in us huh???
Thank you SO MUCH for coming to the party. Did you try the sangria? It is delicious. :)
Oh, do I feel your pain. This happens all the time at my house. I slave over the recipe and they just want mac 'n' cheese.

hysterical! I love it. Our family favorite: pasta. But not with sauce or meat or anything. Pasta with just butter. It doesn't get more boring than that!
Doctoring any bready surface is a huge hit in our house too...
Of course in my sittuation, that IS actually considered major meal preparation...
Feeling your pain...and SO going to the G.I.R.L. Party!
Ugh - I know how that feels! My kiddos are pretty good, for the most part, but don't always appreciate that extra effort that I put into something new and different on the dinner table. Maybe they'll like it more when they bring their dates home for a nice meal, 10+ years...
Although I will say this - we had a neighbor girl 2 houses up the street who had dinner with us a few times. She was SO surprised to actually see me cooking. "You COOK dinner?" she asked. Every night?" she asked. Apparently her family has almost never had a home cooked meal and eats out ALL the time (or take-out)... She thought it was cool that we cooked and ate dinner together. Hmmm...
Can I hire you?
Yep that's the way it always is. Always. It too will pass and lamb and steak will be their desire.
I remember those little English muffin pizza thingies at a friends slumber party when I was 10. ( I didn't really like the girl that much because she was a bully, but I DID like the pizza thingies.)
It could be worse...they could have developed a taste for calamari (eating it with gusto while gleefully proclaiming they "like to eat Squidward") which you don't know how to cook.
Hmm...we haven't made those handy little pizzas yet...I bet he'd like that...might make a nice change from the endless quesadillas he's always asking for.
Shade and Sweetwater,
K
I'm sorry but did you post something? I'm too distracted by that picture to read anything. And, I swear I look exactly like that when I dust. (I would be very happy to ear you lamb stew or pork loin.)
I am so glamorous that I actually would consider making that cooking. Yep. That would be a big ol' planned meal for me here.
I remember making those when we were kids. Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to introduce it to my kids!!
