Finished for Friday: Cute, Useful, Scary

Did you do any projects this week? Finish a scrapbook page? Plant some bulbs? Repaint a wall? Time to be proud of your accomplishments and add a link to them. I'll be hosting this every Friday in the hopes that it will spur me to get some UFO's (unfinished objects) finally finished.

I finished my first Amigurumi this week. I think that's Japanese for "ridiculously cute tiny little crocheted animals." I got this pattern from a book, but I've since found there are lots of patterns online too, so there will probably be more of these in my future. This might sit on top of somebody's Christmas gift.


Next up is a wool felt needlecase. I stick needles in pincushions all over the house, in corks, the arms of chairs - anything that's nearby that I can stab. After I made this I looked around to see if there were any needles I could put in it.


This is embarrassing. I have a needle problem, clearly. Here are a few of the needles I rounded up. There are doll needles in here, double-pointed needles, quilting needles, and on and on. I think I need a few more needlecases.


Finally, here is a little quilt I whipped up. This gives you an idea of the type of really scary decorations around my house. I love the giant ric-rac. This quilt is about 27"x31." Not very big.

    i love the quilt. just whipped it out, huh? i aspire to be that good at sewing. i have to admit, those purses have been in the works for a bit more than a week.

    Love that Halloween quilt! Am I right that the face and green stalk are applique? Ooh, that's one thing I haven't tried yet...

    You are simply too much, ThreeUnder. Regretfully, the only thing I've finished is a bottle of wine, and the photo of my recycling isn't too appealing. LOVE the little octopus too!

    Oh my, that's the cutest little octopus ever! And I'm still in awe of all your Halloween fabric.

    I actually finished a project this week...my son's ghost costume. Done, and just in time for our MOT Halloween party tomorrow :) Of course, I haven't take a picture or anything, so no blog post. But I'll still roll call here that I actually did finish a project!

    That is the cutest little octopus I've ever seen!!!! And the quilt is beautiful. As always, your talents amaze me.

    I love your needlecase! And, the octopus is too cute! I actually finished some Halloween cards and I turned a jar into a pumpkin (sort of) the other day but my camera needs to be recharged so no pictures until later. I'm sorry I missed your Finished for Friday but will participate next week, I promise!

    That is the biggest ric rac I have ever seen. Adorable!
    Yes. I did finish something actually this week. An order and two birthday gifts. But I forgot to take pictures of the doll dresses before I gave them to their recipients! I will try do better next week. :-)
