Pets on Quilts 2011



SewCalGal is hosting a blog show called "Pets on Quilts" complete with many wonderful prizes. Join in and submit your own photos or just go see all the cute pictures. I understand she is collecting some of them for a calendar to benefit the humane society. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to submit my photogenic furry quilt lovers.



My rescue kittens, Hestia and Dumbledore, found this little doll bed where I had displayed a doll quilt I made from scraps.  It's one of the few quilts in the house that's hand-quilted.  When my son found Dumbledore asleep on the bed he couldn't help but tuck him in.  The kittens were only about two months old when these pictures were taken.


Dumbledore is all grown up and gorgeous now, and provides quality control for all finished quilts.  Hestia looks exactly like the cat in my header.

    Dumbledore is an unusual name! What is the origin of the name?

    Dumbledore is so cute asleep in the doll bed! We all seem to have a lot of rescue cats.

    That is the sweetest little photo of the cat tucked into the doll bed. Makes me think of my childhood. My aunt had the biggest cat I have ever seen named Little Darling. He was a joy. He would let me dress him up in my doll clothes and put him in my toy pram. He'd lie there with his head on the pillow, covered with a blanket and I'd push him up and down the street. He never tried to jump out! He was one happy--spoiled rotten--cat!

    Those kitties in the bed are adorable... but I have to tell you that when I saw the one in the bed under the covers I thought it looked a bit like the wolf that ate Grandma. No bonnet though. Cute!
