Doesn't this make you want to sing that song? I love this teapot. The fact that he has a matching mug is just icing on the cake. He reminds me of those old dish towels with anthropomorphic dancing dishes and cutlery. I'm pretty sure these guys sprout legs and play with the fiestaware when I'm not looking.
If anyone knows his history, let me know. He's a beautiful fire-king green, but no marks on the bottom.
The quilted table topper isn't vintage, I made it from reproduction fabrics.
Vintage Thingies Thursday is hosted by the Apron Queen, who gave me an apron and totally rocks!

15 people stopped folding laundry to write:
Omigosh, ADORABLE! Reminds me of the Mr. Men and Little Misses.
How could you NOT smile when using such cheery beverage vehicles?
That is adorable. I never seen anything like it. Hopefully you'll find its roots.
Love the quilt? Are there others?
Love it! How cute is that!
Cute! I have a thing for teapots (and yet don't drink tea, hmmm). Love those smiling faces. How does one go about finding roots for items w/o marks??
That teapot and mug are darling and the table cover is beautiful - you made that!?! I love antiques and I wish I could tell you about these, but I've never seen a pot or mug like them. They are so cute!
Thanks for the wishes for OUR BABY!
Have a good day - Kellan

Someone from MY place has tagged someone at YOUR place...and SOMEONE has some serious writing to do.....
(By the way....that is adorable.)
Okay, I'm sorry but those smiling faces freak me out. We went to Temecula recently and several of the antique shops there had shelves of them.
Do you know how much fun it isn't to have teapot, mug, teacup, and plate smiling faces staring at you when you are looking for jewelry?
yes I use to love that song when I was little, I love your little teapots :-)
btw thanks for your comment at my blog.
Your teapot and mug ARE
adorable, they made me smile
when I saw the picture!!!
:)
I ADORE this teapot & mug! I wish you knew who made it, I sure can't help. They remind me of the dancing hotdog at the drive-in!
I also got a great apron from Lisa!
OH! I LOVE vintage things! Esp. fabrics!!!!
And, yes, as soon as I saw the title...I started singing. LOL
Reminds me of a high school math teacher of mine. He put both his hands on his hips and started singing: "I'm a little teapot, short and stout; here is my handle, here is my ... wait, I'm a sugar bowl!"
Oh good heavens. Thank goodness I did not just stumble across this for sale somewhere online. This is one of those things that can be very dangerous; one of those things that make you say, "Let 'em eat cake, I'm buyin that teapot!"
