Finished for Friday: Amigurumi

Finish any projects this week? Link up and let us know!

I've been trying to figure out this whole amigurumi thing. I thought I was doing ok until my daughter Wasabi Girl pointed out the following flaws:

Santa's face is off-center. I told here he's looking to his right.

Undercooked Gingerbread man.

Overcooked demonic gingerbread man.

Trip to the store for the correct shade of brown, but I need to fix the wonky eye now.

The kids love these little guys. I got the pattern from the Lion Brand yarn site (I think free registration is required). My husband however, is having a little trouble understanding the fascination. He was pretty perplexed when he saw this sitting around. I can't imagine what he thought it was.

Link up and share what you've been working on!

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Those little guys are too cute! Leave it to kids to point out flaws - mine do that too. I think they are great! Funny about your husband - men geesh!

I am not much of an expert on those Amigurumi things, but they look cool to me!!

I think they're so cute, but I had to pause and look the word up since I am not very "crafty."

I guess mine qualifies.. since I finished it before Friday.. but I posted about it Tuesday. Does that still count?
Wasabi girl is too observant.

I've been wanting to try my hand at those Amigurumi things. After battling with the new scarf pattern I'm trying, I think I'll just wait for a little while!
I think yours look just fine.
My husband would have been cracking up to see those laying around the house as well.

Nothing like a demonic gingerbread man to warm my holiday heart!

And truthfully, I think Santa has got a "come hither" thing going. I'd kiss him under the mistletoe.

Had high hopes for my contribution this week...
maybe next. :(

You did all that in one week? I managed to rip out and start over the top of a bear 3x. I think I'm on the right path now, but with husband and children home, a sink full of dirty dishes and 2 laundry baskets of clothes to put away, I don't see how that will happen. I'm amazed at what you accomplish in a week. Do you sleep?

I did just select some favorite blogs as laurel recipients on my blog...might that count as something "finished?"

(There's a li'l something for you there...)

Those are too cute! No projects have to be perfect (since nothing is anyway). I may have to learn how to make those.

I actually did finish a project! I made a winter blanket, it has a beautiful blue snowflake design on one side and a red snowflake/ penguin design on the other. I hand-stitched it in about two days after classes and work.

They are so cute and their imperfections humanize them!

I think your Amigurimi? are cute, crocheted? Perhaps you might blog a bit about their origin?
I had three babies under two, twins came along when the oldest was only 18 months old. Whew those were some crazy years!
Then my sister had twins - & then my brother had twins!

I love the under and over cooked ones, that is too funny but they are so cute!! If you got the eyes right, they would look too perfect, they are just right the way they are and they each have their individual personality. Thanks for sharing, I am not craftsy (if that is a word) at all. My mom does beautiful cross stitching, sewing, you name it, she can do it. Must have skipped my generation :)
