It's summer. My kids have all the time in the world to do crazy kid things. Lately Drama Girl and Jungle Boy have been asking if they can have empty boxes. I didn't really pay attention until I went to investigate their "clubhouse" in the garage. There it is. A castle. Hours of work. I think you have to be a kid to really appreciate the architectural genius here. I only fit about half of it in the picture. The clubhouse area is a little messy so it was hard to get in there to take a picture. The castle is inhabited by a bunch of cotton balls with googly eyes glued on them.
This is Wasabi Girl playing with Mr. Potato Head. We have a lot of Potato Head parts.
"Mommy, this is you, with a pierced tongue!"
Whaaaaaat? For the record, I do not have a pierced tongue. And my moustache isn't that big. And I do have a right arm. My eyes are blue though, so I guess that part's right.
They say true artists create works in a series. This is either the sign of a true artist or just some crazy idea. Jungle Boy created these.
This is cute. I asked Wasabi Girl to come up with a centerpiece for the 4th of July.

I say your kids are crazy creative! ;)
(and I mean that in the best possible way!)
Oh, the bears are cute! My son is always taking boxes from the kitchen to his room to make a masterpiece!
Have a good day - Kellan
I think it takes a little "crazy" to be creative ... so my vote is for both! *LOVE* the castle :)
That clubhouse? Excellent! How did you refrain from begging to join and hang out?
The series? Those would make seriously cute little notes to stick in with letters, cards, etc.
The centerpiece? Perfect. Except the Uncle Sam bear needs sparklers.
We've got some box projects going on at our house too, but these days I have to create the clubhouse. I look forward to when they initiate it themselves.
Fun blog!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.
I like how creative your kids are. Mine love to "save" random objects around the house to "make things". They finally gave up that building a robot thing! :-)
Too bad, perhaps it would have done housework.
Wow! Your kids are so creative!!
Thanks for visiting my blog. We've had a great but busy week with the grandkids visiting. I'll be back to see you next week when things are quieter.

That is all fabulous! I love to see how kids entertain themselves when television and video games aren't involved. Priceless!
I think my oldest would get along so well with your kids! She loves taking whatever she can find & making stuff with it. Your kids have a lot of creativity! ;o)
Thanks for stopping by my blog! ;o)
Do you mean they actually grow up to play together?
Looks like they are having a lot of fun.
I stopped by to see your Vintage Thingies and was enthralled with your children's creativity! I remember building huge structures out of boxes and other "trash" in the cool basement during the summer!
I really enjoy visiting your blog!
I would say really creative!
I think they are wonderfully creative! Such a great thing to see!!!!
We have similar "works of art" decorating our house also.
It's amazing what my kids can come up with when they find cardboard, paper, and a roll of tape.
Oh, did I mention that I am always out of tape?
I think I would be neglecting some sort of friend-duty if I didn't tell you that you can take Mr. Potatohead's moustache and connect it to his armpit using the arm connector piece as an anchor.
It works best if you have two moustaches.
I love the box architecture. They have a future...
Love the pierced tongue..well, not in real life but it is good on Mr. Potatohead!
