There comes a point, towards the end of summer, when you realize that everyone has had enough. Overdosed on camping trips and sunshine and sleepovers, the kids start to get a little restless.
The sprinkler no longer holds as much appeal. Every single episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been watched and discussed at length.
Shopping for back to school supplies suddenly becomes interesting. New notebooks! Calculators! Reams of paper!
The kids even sit down at the piano unbidden and work out new songs by themselves.
And one kid grabs your camera and some toys he dug out of who-knows-where, and goes on a photo safari around the house.
This my friends, is hardcore evidence that summer is winding down. That the kids have at last become bored with all that free time.
And? Evidence that the kids are a little crazy. I think we'll all be happy to see school again in two weeks.

5 people stopped folding laundry to write:
Those ToyStory aliens are my VERY favorite! You're inspiring me to go see the 3rd one, and to wreak some mischievious havoc in our house for fun too!
Keep on healing, Hon.
This funny little safari with the Toy Story aliens makes me smile. Clever!!
Summer vacation was invented by a misogynistic, patriarchal sadist. I'm pretty sure.
hahaha - that's so cute! what a fun way to remember the summer Toy Story III came out!
I knew my kids were bored when they took hundreds of stop motion pics of each other doing silly stuff {like simulating jumping jacks while laying on the floor} - who says kids can't make their own fun?!!
happy friday : )
That is awesome!!
