Slow Sunday Stitching: Fans and Pansies Afghan

I've started a new crochet blanket.  I found the free pattern on Ravelry. I'm using Patons metallic yarn and it has a pretty sheen to it.

This one is definitely going to take a while.  The pattern requires my full attention so I can't do it (yet) while I'm watching television.  So much counting and double-checking.  At least at this point, it's easy for me to see if I make a mistake.

The first few rows took hours and hours because they made no sense at first.  There is definitely a payoff in sticking with a difficult pattern though.

Linking up today with Kathy at Slow Stitching Sunday.

Wow! That's a very ambitious project - and it's going to be amazingly beautiful and SO worth your effort when you're done!
